Over the weekend I performed at the 47th Annual Art Fiesta in Sacramento. Compliments of fellow Stick player, Terry Telson, you can view a gallery of photos he took of me in action. Take a look over here.
The birds are singing, the sun is shining and here comes Spring! Melt away the stress of the day with 15 new gorgeous tracks of solo Stick. The CD includes songs such as: Hotel California, Spanish Eyes, Black Magic Woman, All Along The Watchtower, Scarborough Fair, And I Love Her, Free Bird, Eleanor Rigby and, also- SIX new originals.
The cover and graphics are absolutely beautiful (and so is the music!). I know you’ll love it! It’s not yet listed elsewhere on this website but if you’d like a copy- no problema. Many thanks to all the people who enjoy and support my music!
Looking forward to seeing you again at a festival or fair this summer.
My new CD (#6), “Here Comes Spring”, is officially done. It looks and sounds great. Presently, it’s at the duplication plant being pressed and packaged. I’m planning to release it on May 27th at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee. I’ll keep you posted….
Yippee! We just finished mastering my new CD and it sounds GREAT! This release should be available in mid to late May and it is tenatively titled “Here Comes Spring”. The new disc has 15 tracks of beautiful solo Stick music that will melt away the stress of your day. Hope you’ll get to hear it when it’s released next month. I’ll keep you posted…
P.S. On the morning of Friday April 15th, I’ll be featured on the morning shows of both Sacramento’s Spanish language TV station, Univision KUVS Channel 19 and (English speaking) Channel 10. It will be early- between 5:00 – 7:00 am. We will be promoting the opening of the Placer County Strawberry Festival, later that same day. If in the Sacramento area, I hope you’ll tune in to one of these stations.
My Spring & Summer festival/fair calendar is filling up fast. Click on Calendar to see some of the events I’ll be performing at in the next few months. I’m looking forward to seeing many of you again this year! Also- this coming Saturday night I’ll be at the Sacramento Brewing Company from 8-11pm. It’s a great place to relax to the sweet soothing sounds of The Chapman Stick. Hope to see you there!
Work is coming along nicely on my next CD. It should be available by the end of May 2005. I’ll keep you updated on my progress. Thanks again to all the people who have enjoyed and supported my music.
On Sun. Jan. 16th, I was featured on Sacramento’s ABC affliate, KCRA Channel 3 during the weather segment of the 6:00 o’clock evening news. I was performing in Old Sacramento (on a beautiful sunny day!) and was captured playing my original song “Espanola” by cameraman Rob Stewart. My name (and instrument) was mentioned and they used 3-4 different angles in the footage. I’ve already met some of you who saw it here in Sacramento on Sunday night. Wasn’t that nice? THANK YOU, KCRA!
On Sat. Nov. 27th, I made a TV appearance on the popular local show, “Good Day Sacramento” with personality Marcus Allen. I was promoting the new Christmas CD, “FROSTY THE STICKMAN” at America’s Largest Christmas Bazaar (which was held last weekend at Cal Expo in Sac). I’m having this great clip digitized so you’ll be able to view it here within the next month. I also have a copy of a TV commercial that I made with the Harvest Festival for their San Diego show. It was aired in the San Diego area last month- I’ll also digitize it and add it here, as well. (In the meantime, why not view some of the 10 other clips? Just click on Video Clips in the right hand column)
Just received another great review for the new Christmas CD- “FROSTY THE STICKMAN”. This one comes from Jim Reilly in British Columbia, Canada. Jim has recently taken the helm of the “StickNews” Online Digest and has, in the past, worked with the Chapman family at Stick Enterprises in Woodland Hills, CA. The review is in StickNews #269 published on 11/29/04. It has not yet been archived into the digest so I’ll post it in the Guestbook for you to read now. Thanks to Larry Watkins for forwarding it to me from Bombay, India!
I received a nice note today from Sandra & Noland (whom I’ve met at one of my past performances). It made me feel warm & fuzzy so I just have to share it with you:
“We’re meeting friends for dinner on Friday night, and we were trying to think of something special and unique to take for a holiday gift. Your CD’s are the perfect answer. We’re sure our friends will enjoy them as much as we do”
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Hope you are having a wonderful holiday with family and friends.
